Dr. Carolyn Cronin
- University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign, IL – Bachelors of Science, Integrative Biology
- Dental School: University of Illinois – Chicago, IL - Doctor of Dental Medicine, Student Rank #1
- University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, NC - Specialty of Orthodontics, Masters of Science
Dr. Carolyn Cronin was born and raised in rural Southern Illinois and was the oldest of 3 children. Dr. Cronin graduated valedictorian of her high school class, and went on to the University of Illinois to major in Integrative Biology. Dr. Cronin’s first post-college job was traveling the country on the Jonas Brothers tour as a marketing brand ambassador.
Serendipitously, through her interaction with enthusiastic adolescent fans, she learned about the hearts and minds of young teens. As a teen herself, she spent many years in braces, and remembered the confidence she developed through her smile transformation. Dr. Cronin’s “AHA moment” was when she decided orthodontics would be the most fulfilling career: combining her passions for science, art, and social interaction, to change others self-esteem. She graduated first in her dental school class at University of Illinois- Chicago and was chosen to attend arguably the most prestigious orthodontic residency in the country- University of North Carolina. Following in Dr. Chubb’s footsteps she became a faculty member at the St. Luke’s Presbyterian Hospital to help with Cleft Lip and Palate Specialty Care.
Beyond the Practice
Dr. Cronin loves exploring Colorado and although newer to skiing, she got up the courage to try her first double black diamond run last season. She is happiest spending quality time with family and friends, drawing, practicing yoga, or hiking.

Thomas Chubb, DDS
It is a privilege to be an orthodontist. My days are spent with people who’ve chosen to make a lasting change in their lives. I get to know them throughout treatment, see each become more confident and comfortable with themselves, and finish with a beautiful smile they love to share!
My father was a general dentist, and I grew up admiring his dedication to his patients and the connections he built with them. Becoming an orthodontist was a logical path for me: I appreciate the science and art, and treasure getting to know patients as individuals. I’ve been practicing for almost 30 years and still look forward to coming to the office each morning!
It’s an honor to be trusted by my patients and their families. Whether I’m caring for a child or an adult, I’m constantly evaluating their situation and focusing on what’s right for that person. Being entrusted with someone’s future smile is humbling and inspiring, and I’m resolved to always exceed my patients’ expectations.
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate studies and Doctorate of Dental Surgery – The Ohio State University
- Orthodontic residency – U.S. Army Orthodontic Residency Program at Ft. Meade, in affiliation with the University of Maryland
Like other areas of healthcare, orthodontics is rapidly changing. New techniques, materials, and technology are developed, tested, and brought to the market. It’s my responsibility to stay current on new options, and carefully research each to determine if they’re appropriate for my patients.
In addition to attending national and regional meetings, seminars, and lectures, I’m an orthodontic advisor for the Speer Study Group, a multi-disciplinary oral healthcare group that promotes collaborative learning. I’m also an active member of the Arnett Foundation, which brings together orthodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
Continuing education enables me to incorporate years of clinical experience with advanced options. Patients have the comfort of an experienced practitioner who has kept up with the latest developments in orthodontics.
I have also been on the Cleft Lip and Palate team at Rose Medical Center in Denver for more than 20 years. This experience has exposed me to the most challenging cases and taught me the complex biomechanics required to care for patients. In turn, the experience has made me a better orthodontist, because I’m able to apply those skills and knowledge to treatment planning for patients.
Beyond the Practice
I grew up in northwest Ohio and first came to Colorado for the skiing ... and stayed for everything else! My family and I live in the close-knit town of Golden, where we’re active in keeping our community healthy.
I have three children and one stepdaughter. My son is an attorney who practices in Boulder, my oldest daughter is a teacher living in Boston, and my two youngest daughters are still in school. Our family also includes Charlie, our bulldog, and Duchess, our cat.
